How do you grow garlic in pots or planters?

In early spring, you’ll be happy to see tiny green shoots popping up. Wait a little longer, they will soon become large green stems. In the meantime, place the jar of garlic back in the sun and continue watering it regularly. To stimulate growth, sprinkle 2 tablespoons of granular organic fertilizer suitable for garlic bulbs on the surface of the soil. You will see, around the month of June, a curly flower stalk will show the tip of the nose. You will then need to cut it back to divert the plant’s energy towards growing a larger bulb. From there, all you have to do is wait for the plant to grow quietly, until the foliage is about 50% yellow. Then it will be the right time for the harvest!

When can garlic be harvested?
Generally, garlic leaves begin to yellow in early summer. As soon as you notice that they are half yellow, you can empty the jar and dig out the heads of garlic. The bulbs are now ready to be harvested! A tip: don’t delay harvesting, as the bulbs eventually open and don’t store well if harvested late enough. How do you remove them without damaging them? Using a fork, dig them out very delicately. And that’s it, you will save a lot of money, because from now on you will not be left without garlic at home!
